Parent Education Series – Handwriting Level 1 (K-2)
JSIS In-House Occupational Therapist Brian Lattner OTR/L will present on the developmental progression of handwriting skills. Brian’s PTSA presentation last year, Handwriting Level 2, focused on older writers. This presentation is targeted at grades K-2, covering the “ages and stages” of handwriting, evolution of grasping patterns, whether pencil grips are needed, and the pro’s and con’s of major handwriting programs like Handwriting Without Tears and the Size Matters Handwriting Program. Brian will conclude with the top 3 ways to make any handwriting instruction successful. Learn the theoretical underpinnings of handwriting and tangible ideas to help support and engage your child. Bring your questions for our in-house expert!
